Is It Possible To Have Chlamydia For Years

2010 THE YEAR OF BIODIVERSITY '

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)
effect December 29, 1993, has three fundamental objectives: to conserve biological diversity in order to use it sustainably and share the benefits they bring in a fair and balanced.
the rate of plant and animal species threatened with extinction, and the pace which ecosystems are being destroyed, are increasing every day.
Biodiversity is the foundation of life on Earth. It underpins the functioning of ecosystems from which the products and all essential services, such as oxygen, food, drinking water and medicines to which we use every day. A healthy biodiversity is essential for human welfare, sustainable development and poverty reduction. But people, especially in the developed world, it is now very far removed from nature and we have forgotten how much we rely on it. The increasing rate of species extinction, that is up to 1,000 times the 'background' or natural rate, shows that the natural world can not withstand the pressure that humanity is placing on it. Biodiversity is being lost through habitat destruction, land conversion for agriculture and rural development, climate change, pollution, the spread of invasive species and a host of other threats. According to the IUCN
here is some information on problems in biodiversity:
17,291 to 47,677 species so far assessed are threatened with extinction.

In 5490 the world's mammals, 79 are extinct or extinct in the wild, and 188 seriously endangered, 449 threatened endangered and 505 vulnerable.

  • 1895 of 6285 amphibians of the planet are in danger of extinction, this means that they are the group most at risk of species known to date.

  • More than 70,000 plant species are used in traditional medicine and modern.

  • Coral reefs provide food, protection storm, jobs, recreation and other sources of income for more than 500 million people around the world, yet 70% of coral reefs are threatened or destroyed.

  • Biodiversity is essential for food security global and nutrition and also serves as a safety net for poor families in times of crisis.

  • The diversity of genes within species, such as represented by animal breeds and plant varieties, is also important for agriculture and food security. Increased diversity reduces the risk of disease and increases our ability to adapt to climate change.
