L’attore Shah Rukh Khan è entrato nel mondo di Bollywood nel 1992 con il film Deewana e in pochi anni è diventato uno degli attori più popolari del cinema indiano. Una luce dal passato (titolo originale Swades , letteralmente significa Mio Paese) è un film del 2004, del regista Ashutosh Gowarikar . Gowarikar è già conosciuto in Italia per il suo film “ Lagaan – c’era una volta in India ”.

Era il primo e l’unico film dell’attrice Gayatri Joshi, la quale si era sposata dopo l’uscita del film e ha deciso di non lavorare più come attrice.
